Understanding Labour Party stakeholders, factions & process
Understanding the politics of Labour's conference, and the competing factions seeking to influence the decision and policy-making process is vital to understand the undercurrent of grassroots mobilisation that takes place within the Labour party, and the impacts that this could have for the future Labour party policy.
Dods has prepared this handy guide to the different organisational groups within the Labour party, and the key figures that will be active around the conference, and engage in the organisation, sometimes against one another, in order to attempt to influence policy. As the Labour party is a broad tent, Dods has focused on identifying 15 groups that seek to exert influence in the Labour party internal structures and policy, and have created a scale of influence to demonstrate how much soft power each organisation holds within influencing thought and direction within the party.
