Queen's Speech 2017 Speculation
The Queen Speech will take place on Wednesday 21 June. This year's speech carries particular weight as its been confirmed there will be no Queen Speech and new legislative programme in 2018 to allow MPs to scrutinise "substantial amounts of legislation". Whilst we can expect the legislative agenda to be dominated by a raft of European Union exit legislation, the Leader of the House of Commons Andrea Leadsom has also indicated that the Government wanted to pass "a domestic agenda which aims to tackle the social injustices in our country", alongside the anticipated Brexit bills.
In advance of the Speech, Dods Monitoring has compiled relevant speculation to give an insight into the bills which may be announced. Our team have also considered which issues previously highlighted may no longer be feasible given the change in political position for the Conservative Party .
